2. Principles
This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or tracking services and does not load content from third-party servers. Fonts and images are hosted on our own server. The connection is encrypted via TLS (https). Links to other websites, for example to scientific publications via doi.org, are mere references. Only once you click them does the privacy policy of the respective site apply.
3. Hosting and server logs
The website runs on a server in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The provider is Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hostinger.
When the site is accessed, the server may store technical information in log files: IP address, date and time, requested address, status code, amount of data transferred, referring page and browser identifier. This serves the secure and stable operation of the site and the defence against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are not merged with other data and are continuously overwritten automatically.
4. Contact by email
If you write to us, for example about Early Access, we process your email address, your name and your message in order to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, pre-contractual measures). Emails currently go to a mailbox at Gmail. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. A transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out. It is safeguarded by the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google is certified.
5. Retention period
Requests that do not lead to a collaboration are deleted at the latest six months after the last contact. If a collaboration arises, we keep documents for as long as legal obligations require.
6. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). A message to the email address above is sufficient. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
7. Hebby itself
This policy applies only to the website. Separate agreements apply to the use of Hebby.
